Ariella Elema is an archivist and information sciences professional. She received a PhD in medieval studies from the University of Toronto in 2012, and an MLIS from Western University in 2018. Her PhD dissertation, Trial by Battle in France and England, won the Canadian Society of Medievalists' 2013 Leonard Boyle Dissertation Prize. Ironically, she practices armizare.
